I made this cake for my friends birthday because….well he’s Sicilian. And he’s never in town for his birthday so considering the fact he actually was this time around, he had to get a cake. My favorite type of birthday cakes are the kind that aren’t supposed to be birthday cakes. But stick a candle in it and boom, it’s a birthday cake. I’ve also come to the conclusion that not enough things have pistachios in them.
Buongiorno friends!!! I’ve gone through the heaps of pictures I took in Italy and picked out some of my favorites to share, along with some thoughts and pieces of advice. It was my first time visiting the country and I was really overdue to go, considering my husband gets to go a few times a year for his job. It was getting embarrassing that we’ve been together over five years now and I had still never gone with him. But thanks to super cheap airfare right now, it happened! I’m hoping this week will be full of posts, a few summing up my travel experience, a few recipes inspired by the trip. So strap in kids, let’s get Italian up in here.
Well, I’m writing this from my hotel room in Milan. The journey was long but I made it without a scratch. And with a nap that was probably a little longer than intended I was able to walk around and begin to explore this new country. I won’t get into too much detail quite yet but I can’t wait to dedicate a little time on here about my trip.
