Final thoughts on this incredible trip? Well, first off, I’m going to get better at not feeling guilty for taking time off.  I think when you’re living as an artist, especially in NYC there’s this constant churning inside you.  It makes you feel like if you’re not pounding the pavement every second of every day, you don’t care about your art, and you’re not serious about what you do.  And this simply isn’t true. Phil and I hemmed and hawed over going on this trip when the money could’ve been saved, gone toward creative endeavors, or spent on just a nice dinner in the city, cause that would suffice, right? No. After our week together in Tulum it was clear we needed to take more times for ourselves and breathe.

Pour some margarita’s on MAAYYYYYYY! May is here and surprise surprise, NYC doesn’t agree and has turned chilly and autumn-like.  My birthday is Friday and I’ll still be dressing like it’s spring every day to celebrate.

Tulum is a beautiful place to lay on the beach, but also, full of history, Mayan history, ya dig? Phil and I set some ground rules when we decided to go on a better late than never honeymoon.  One of those was we weren’t going to have an agenda.  No feeling like we were rushing around, because that’s what our lives are like every day.But we did have a few activities on the list we wanted to accomplish.  And with the help of our hotel we saw all the history and cenotes we needed over the course of a few days.
