I love living in New York City. Sometimes it can get me down, or grind my gears, but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. One of my favorite things about NYC is that after a decade of calling this place home, I am STILL discovering new places within it. For the 4th of July we met up with some friends to enjoy bowling, beer, fireworks, and a killer rooftop. However, before we joined our crew, Phil and I walked around the Gantry Park area in Long Island City, Queens. If you haven’t taken time to stroll along the water, enjoy the many fantastic restaurants or see the iconic Pepsi sign, you’re overdue. I’ve visited this area many times. In fact, one of the best restaurants in the city (in my opinion) is there, it’s Casa Enrique, do yourself a favor and check it out. But I’d never been to that Pepsi sign. On the 4th, I was finally able to check it off my list as we laid in the grass, listening to the people around us prepare for the fireworks, which were still hours away. It was an overcast, yet sticky day, so it was the perfect opportunity for the breezy linen jumpsuit I recently purchased on sale from The Gap. Not only did it make me feel like I was in PJs all day, it got rave reviews from friends. I complimented it with simple mules and small stud earrings, because the jumpsuit was the main event. It was a great way to celebrate the holiday. I stand by the belief that jumpsuits are the best way to look put together in the summer with zero effort. We still have some warm months ahead, so I’d recommend adding a few to your wardrobe, STAT.
