Spring has Sprung!

New York is definitely on the fence on whether it’s spring or not, bouncing between temperatures in the low 50’s and the mid-70’s, but my mind is made up. I’ve broken out my denim jacket, cropped pants and t-shirts, refusing to go back.

I’ve been in hiding a bit on social media and here on the blog, but have been incredibly active in my three dimensional life. Since my Valentine’s Day confections, I’ve been out and about for work and play, and even took a week to go on vacation with my husband and some friends to Barbados, which was beyond heavenly. Not even opening my social media apps for this blog has actually been a much needed mental break. It’s been easy for me to fall into the traps of comparing the life people decide to post with my own. Those moments were becoming more and more frequent and I felt a pressure to post, a constant dread of never doing enough. This never-ending comparison was really starting to drive me bonkers, so I took a short break, reminded myself that I can post when I want, and if I don’t have enough hours in the day to complete projects, it’s completely fine. Now I’m ready to start again with a new piece I’ve added to my closet. These mustard pants from Everlane are legit one of the best things I’ve bought in a long time.

Have you heard of Everlane? Because you should know them, and love them like I do. They’re a clothing company with great basics and classic pieces with transparent pricing. They even just released a shoe line made mostly from recycled plastic. I love their message and their mission and when I saw these pants, they were calling my name. I’ve been wearing them through the chilly days of early spring with sweaters, and through bright and sunny days in t-shirts like when we walked around the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in these pictures. I love the high rise design, and I bought the “short” option so they doesn’t land at an awkward place on my ankles. Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors because it can be worn year round. Did I mention they make your tush look great? I think a company with a good cause and good quality clothing is always worth looking into, and Everlane definitely checks those boxes.
